October Goals

Temecula Quilt Company's Marvelous Mini Monday
My list of goals for the month of October is long, but this little quilt will be my One Monthly Goal from the UFO pile.

I have two retreats this month, so while at quilt camp, I hope to get all the sashing sewn for my Primitive Garden quilt. The PG Facebook group is on to the borders now and they are labor intensive! Julee Prose was kind enough to share her pattern for the flag that I subbed in place of the hose for the right border.
This month we are working on the bottom border--I will be trying to get it set up ASAP, since I waited too long to get started on the September border and didn't finish until October 1st. This border will have some changes as well. I need to add a white pumpkin since I'm a little obsessed with them right now--lol!

Palmateer Point
Okay--I've never been able to participate in one of Lori's little SAL's for one reason or another, but this time I already had a drawer full of 4 patches and was compelled to sew! I added a row at the top on bottom to make it into a rectangle. There will be more instructions coming for this little quilt on Friday--we'll see if my rectangle works out!

Texas Tribute
I posted this little quilt on Instagram a while back.
Moda has been having little monthly contests featuring their designers. I've joined in on a few of them only when I have some of the fabrics in my stash. This little quilt is for the Primitive Gatherings challenge to make a small quilt from PG fabrics. I used all scraps from my stash--and I got in some Big Stitch Quilting practice.

The stars are super simple wool applique.
I used  Block Base software to size block #3685 Texas Ranger's Badge to four inches.
And......
My friend Brenda P. gifted me with this wondrous pile of plaids. I don't know what the first project will be using them but I have a long list of ideas swirling around in my head.
There are a few homespun fabrics, but for the most part they are the recycled shirts I've been lusting after--and they are 99.9% blues!!!! Thanks again Brenda--I love them!
